1. Trim the Wick
Before each burn, trim the wick to about 1/4 inch (6 mm). A longer wick creates excess soot and an uneven flame, while a properly trimmed wick ensures a steady, clean burn.

2. First Burn Matters
Allow the wax to melt evenly across the surface during the first burn, usually 1-3 hours, depending on the candle’s size. This prevents tunneling, where wax burns down the center and wastes the edges.

3. Burn Time Limit
Avoid burning your candle for more than 4 hours at a time. Prolonged burning can cause carbon buildup on the wick, leading to excessive smoke and soot.

4. Keep It Clean
If debris, such as wick trimmings or dust, falls into the wax, remove it to maintain a clean burn.

5. Burn in a Safe Spot

Use a candle snuffer to put out the flame instead of blowing it out, which can cause wax splatter and smoke.
